In this role, you will lead and help grow our team of designers. Whether that’s through human centered design process and scenario definition, process flows, wireframes, prototypes and functional design specs or team coaching, mentoring and client communication - you are a hands on leader who is up for any challenge.  You will be helping to define and enhance our clients’ digital experience and seamlessly support the interactions our clients’ users have within the digital ecosystem. You will also be helping to grow and continue to build the best UX Design team around.

About you:

You have pragmatic, hands-on experience in the digital product space, and have a strong knowledge of all the emerging trends and technologies in the interactive space. You are comfortable concepting from scratch or advising a client who has an existing application needing strategy around optimization and improvement. You have a keenly developed aesthetic sense, a good strategic mind and a practitioner’s background focused on design. You have a strong background in and passion for product development. You can lead while fostering a creative and collaborative environment that thrives on an exchange of ideas.

You have:

  • Fluency in the practical aspects of concepting, design, development as it relates to User Experience
  • A servant leadership approach, are team focused and enjoy mentoring
  • Experience building and growing a highly talented team
  • Proven ability to design beautiful products used by many
  • A background in interactive art direction, interface design or creative technology
  • Strong writing, deck-creation and presentation skills
  • A fondness for pitching and winning new business
  • A genuine interest in client relationships and ability to communicate with product owners or stakeholders
  • Experience designing interactive solutions for large companies with multiple channels
  • Aptitude for directing large scale programs with multiple interrelated design tracks
  • A proven ability to lead high performing design teams with track record of managing and grooming junior talent
  • A killer portfolio

About the role:

  • This is a leadership role on our UXD team - we are a culture of empowerment, embracing aspects of holacracy, servant leadership and bottom up management
  • You will work collaboratively across our client teams
  • Will be accountable for the multi channel experience we provide to our clients
  • Ensure the quality of deliverables provided to clients is top notch
  • Set design standards and best practices for User Experience Design at Solstice
  • Participate in the strategic planning process, providing user experience and design thought leadership for product development roadmaps
  • Guide and mentor our user experience team to create engaging and memorable experiences, driving an environment of sharing and collaboration
  • Work directly with Business partners to define customer needs and translate needs into an experience brief, develop design strategies in alignment with this brief, and represent design decisions to senior leadership team
  • Provide thought leadership in the community through blogging, external speaking opportunities, Solstice events, and other outlets
  • Foster growth of the UXD team, offering mentorship, career guidance, stretch opportunities - Solstice is a culture of Help shape the personal brands of the UXD Solsties
  • Host design workshops and facilitate innovation sessions
  • Willingness to travel as needed - minimally 40%
